Thundering Falls, Untamed Safaris & the Warm Heart of Africa

Where the Wild Flows Free and the Welcome is Real

Zambia isn’t just a destination, it’s a feeling. Imagine standing at the edge of Victoria Falls as mist kisses your face, or silently drifting along the Zambezi River while elephants drink just metres away. In Zambia, nature isn’t just part of the journey - it is the journey.

This landlocked gem offers some of Africa’s most unspoiled national parks, walking safaris that make your heart race, and locals known for their warmth and generosity. Whether you’re tracking leopards at night in South Luangwa or enjoying a sunset cruise in Livingstone, Zambia offers intimate, unforgettable moments that linger long after you’ve left.

Visa Requirements

As of recent updates, UK passport holders no longer need a visa to enter Zambia for tourism up to 90 days. Just ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months, and you may be asked to show proof of onward travel and accommodation.

Holidays to Zambia

During the Summer

From November to March, it’s the rainy (green) season. Expect hot, humid days (up to 32°C) and lush landscapes with dramatic skies - great for birding and photography, but some roads may be impassable.

During the Winter

From May to August, it's the dry, cooler season, with warm days (22–27°C) and chilly nights - ideal for safaris and outdoor activities. Visibility for wildlife is excellent during this time.

Top Zambia Hot Spots

Feel the power of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Go on a walking safari in South Luangwa, where expert guides take you thrillingly close to wildlife. And paddle a canoe through the wilds of the Lower Zambezi, where elephants, hippos, and crocodiles line your path.

Victoria Falls – The Smoke That Thunders

Locally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, these jaw-dropping falls are awe-inspiring in both the wet and dry seasons. Swim in Devil’s Pool, take a microlight flight, or just feel the roar.

South Luangwa National Park – The Birthplace of Walking Safaris

Known for its incredible leopard sightings, night drives, and close-up walking safaris, South Luangwa is a wildlife lover’s dream and one of Africa’s hidden gems.

Lower Zambezi National Park – Water, Wildlife & Wilderness

Canoe past crocodiles, fish for tigerfish, or stay in a luxury tent overlooking the river. This park is wild, serene, and utterly unforgettable.

Lusaka – Modern Africa with Local Soul

Zambia’s capital offers lively markets, cultural centres, and an emerging food scene. It’s the perfect place to begin or end your journey with a bit of urban energy.

Top Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Holiday

  1. Go on a Walking Safari - Zambia pioneered the walking safari - and there’s nothing like seeing wildlife on foot. Led by expert rangers, it’s safe, thrilling, and deeply memorable.
  2. Pack for All Conditions - Evenings can be cool in the bush, even in summer. Pack light layers, a hat, sunblock, and sturdy shoes - plus binoculars for those “wow” moments.
  3. Carry USD & Pay Park Fees in Advance - Most national park entry fees are paid in USD or Zambian Kwacha. Many lodges can arrange this ahead of time for a smoother experience.
  4. Disconnect to Reconnect - Wi-Fi is patchy in remote areas, and that’s the beauty of it. Zambia is the perfect place to go offline and let the wild world in.
